Kilt Measuring Guide:
A kilt is usually worn higher than trousers, and as such the measurement should be taken from the navel (belly button). Therefore your kilt waist measurement is likely to be different than your trouser waist measurement.

It’s important that the pleats stay firmly in place during shipping and handling, to achieve this, pleats are stitched temporarily with large basting stitches.
First make sure that kilt is fit for your size. Then take out these temporary stitches as follow.
Carefully cut one thread then pull out each stitch, one by one, cutting the thread regularly to keep it short enough to be manageable and to avoid it knotting. Never allow a knot to pass through the fabric as this would damage the cloth.
